Wholegrain Pecan Pie
A classic dessert, reimagined: Wholegrain Pecan Pie, made the Kipster way.
🍽️ Serves 8
Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) wholegrain pie crust (preferably palm oil–free)
- 3 Kipster eggs
- Âľ cup apple-pear syrup (as a local alternative to corn syrup)
- Âľ cup raw cane sugar
- ÂĽ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1 cup pecan halves (organic if possible)
Optional: zest of ½ an orange for a little lift
👨‍🍳 Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs. Add apple-pear syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and sea salt. Mix well.
- Arrange the pecans in the pie crust. Gently pour the egg mixture over the nuts.
- Bake in the center of the oven for about 55–60 minutes. The filling should just set.
Let the pie cool completely before serving. Enjoy at room temperature, optionally with a dollop of unsweetened soy yogurt.
🧠Why it’s a Kipster kind of pie
- Kipster eggs come from chickens that eat agricultural byproducts, needing less land to feed them.
- Wholegrain crust means more fiber, less waste.
- Apple-pear syrup replaces corn syrup with a local and less refined option.
- Simple ingredients, full of flavor, no additives.
🎯 Perfect for the holidays or for anyone who likes their dessert better.
